Day 15 of Blogmas,

I know I missed day 14 of Blogmas!!! I had to run errands yesterday after work and by the time I got home and had this little guy built I was just ready to go to sleep!
So here is day 15 of Blogmas! I really wanted to get some pretty Christmas trees to go on my porch but they're expensive and they die... Sooooo I decided to make my own!
Here I have two tomato cages, two plastic pots that I ended up putting a brick in to keep them from blowing all over the yard, four 18ft pre lit garland, gorilla tape and some mini zip ties. Not pictured is my handy hot glue gun!
Here's my pots, I'm wanting to say they were 13.5in
Mini twisty ties
I've never used this tape before but I am a believer now!!!! It's amazing!!!!
Close up of the garland
Aaaaaand I think these were 4ft tomato cages...
Here I ziptied the tops together, I ended up moving this waaaaaay down because I had like maybe two feet left that needed to me covered and that wouldn't have worked with the length of the garland.
I had the hubby cut the bottom ring off because it didn't fit completely on the pot, if you want to get a bigger pot that's fine but I didn't wan to go back to Wal-mart because it was horrible!!!!
Here I got the gorilla tape and taped the tomato cage to the pot
I put a brick in the bottom of the pot to keep it from blowing away!
I Just realized that all the pictures I took of wrapping the garland on the tree have disappeared!!! I guess I will just talk you through it instead! I started by hot gluing the garland to the lip of the pot. Then as I twisted it around I glued it to each "post". I ended up using 2 1/2 packages so I only made one because like I said earlier Wal-Mart was insane!!!
Here it is all lit up! I haven't put it on my porch yet but I will tonight and I'll add the picture! This was fairly easy to do after I figured out what I was doing. It probably took around 30 minutes to make

Day 13 of Blogmas!

So I kinda missed day 11 and 12 of Blogmas but I seriously didn't do much at all. Day 11 I just went to work and day 12 we opened Christmas presents at my friends house and she watched the kiddos for us when we had our office Christmas dinner. Today I've been trying to clean. Another one of my friends came over and we exchanged Christmas presents and just talked. Then the hubby and I hung up the chrostmas lights outside. Unfortunately the stupid light socket outside has crapped out on us so we're running cords all over the place! I think I'm going to look at come gorilla tape to hold the extension cords to the walls outside so they're not sitting in water all month.
Here's the hubby hard at work! One day we will have gutters and this will be a lot easier but we've only been here a little over a year

The ladder wasn't tall enough...

I'm super helpful!

Here's the final-ish product. We have lights on the poles but they're not plugged in yet and we have some lights to go on the sad dead evergreen(bullshit) trees in the front of the house.

Day 10 of Blogmas. Baby Doctor

So yesterday I didn't do much of anything besides go to the baby doctor. They did some blood work and did a sonogram and all that good stuff. Little Lana is currently 5lbs 15oz. they usually gain 1/2 a week so she will be around 8lbs if I carry her to 40 weeks. I'm still barely anemic so I need to remember to take my iron and I'm wanting to start drinking green juice. I start going to the doctor every week so that should be fun...
Other than going to the baby doctor I made a few more of those sharpie cups but that was it! I'm not sure what I will be doing for day 11 of blogmas yet. I'm running out of ideas!!!

Day 9 of Blogmas, Christmas Centerpiece!

Look at that! I'm actually getting a blog done on the right day and it was a fairly hectic day! Miss Jayden has come down with strep so the hubby brought her up to my work to get checked out. She used to get strep all the time but she hasn't had it in about a year. The Doctor I work for said it's going around pretty bad here so it figure she would pick it up. Tomorrow is my baby doctor appointment yay! They're going to check if I'm dilated any yet (I've been having a ton of pressure and back pain) and they're going to do a sonogram to see how big she's gotten. Okay enough rambling and on to the centerpiece!!!

I started with the Log and leftover chalkboard paper from the Thanksgiving Centerpiece. I know I really need to clean up the old candle wax and put in some new candles but I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do that yet!
Next I wrote Merry Christmas and drew some fun snowflakes in the corners. Can you tell I erased the writing about a million times? I finally ended up copying some pretty writing off of my computer haha.
Then I used the clippings that were left over from the Hanging Light Decoration tutorial and shoved it all around the log
Then I used the cute mini ornaments that came with our tree ornaments and some gold pine cones that I've had forever and laid them out around the log and were all done! Super easy cheap and fast!
Close up of these cute pine cones
 Snowflake and decorations
 Merry Christmas!

I don't think I will be doing much of a blog tomorrow since I will be spending most of the day at the baby doctor. I really need to clean house tomorrow and finish wrapping the kiddos Christmas presents (I might finish them tonight actually) but I will definitely update everyone on that they say and fingers crossed we will be having a December baby instead of a January baby!

Happy Day 8 of Blogmas! Christmas Starbucks Cup Candle DIY!

Hey everyone happy Day 8 of Blogmas! Today I'm going to show you how to make a cute Starbucks candle!
First you need some sort of candle wax, I used Red candles and Cream colored candles.
A print out of the Starbucks logo.
Small paper cups.
Candle wicks (I used the ones our of  the red and cream candles)
Crayon for the "topping" I used an orange for caramel.
Gorilla Glue
Hot Glue Gun

The first thing I did was smash up my candles. I used 6 candles. Then I put them in a skillet on low heat to let them melt.
While they were melting I hot glued the candle wicks to the bottom of the cups

After the candle was melted I let it cool then I poured it into the cups. I used a piece of tape to keep the wick up then I stuck it in the freezer to cool down because I dont have enough patience to let it cool on the counter
Then with my cream candle I grated it with an old cheese grater and heated it in the microwave in 10 second intervals until it was melted just enough to hold it together
Then I simply mushed it all on the top of the candle to make it look like foam!
I also used gorille glue to attach my Starbucks logo to the "cup"
Then using a lighter I melted the crayon on the top of the "foam"

And here it is from the front. I know this lighting is kind of off and it's not very focused I took this picture with my phone.
All in all this was a pretty simple DIY now that Ive finished it. I think the next few that I do are going to be a lot easier than this first one. For day 9 of Blogmas I'm going to show you my dining table centerpiece.

Day 7 of Blogmas

Okay so I know yesterday I said I was going to post a blog that's a DIY present, weeeeeeeell I worked on it all dang night and I am still freaking working on it!!! I watched the video how to make it on YouTube and it seemed so simple but when I was doing it I was like uuuuuuuh no she did this in one try and I've already messed up multiple times.... I have a few steps done so tonight when I get home I will finish it... Hopefully.... So I guess this will be considered blog day 7 and tonight's will be 8? I don't know I'm getting lost since I fell behind grrrr. Alrighty well I'm at work and I just wanted to post a quick update to let y'all know what was going on!

Very late day 6 of Blogmas!!!

Okay I know the day before yesterday I said that I would have this blog up earlier and I'm so sorry!!!! I fell asleep on the couch and that was that... I woke up at 1 in the morning and was like well it's too late now! So yesterday I made bandana bibs!!! These are something that I'm not going to do a tutorial over because I am actually selling them. They're $6 a piece or 4 for $20. I was going to buy some on etsy and when I saw the price (3 for $50 are you kidding me!?!?) I thought I would make my own and start selling them at a decent price! If you are interested in purchasing one or a set let me know in the comments and I will contact you. The ones I made are for a little girl obviously and they go with the theme of her room but I can do them for a little boy as well or unisex whatever you are wanting! Also the ones on etsy didn't have the absorb and backing like mine do which didn't make much sense to me I feel like the food or drool would just go right through.
Here's an example of one of the ones I made for Lana.

And here is a set of three. I plan on making many more of them for her in lots of fun pretty colors and designs!

I will be posting another blog today and it will be a DIY that you can use as Chrostmas presents!

Day 5 of Blogmas! Hanging Light Decoration!

Lordy Jesus it is late late late! We ran a hundred errands today but I WILL post this blog!!!!
So today(tonight) I'm going to show you how to make an extremely easy hanging light decoration for your porch!
Here I have a bunch of cedar limbs... trimmings? off of a tree in my backyard, the little trimmers, some ribbon that was left over from my Christmas Wreath, a foam block, and a few ornament hooks. Not pictured is my handy dandy hot glue gun!
So first I unwrapped my little block
Then I trimmed off a few pieces of the cedar and shoved it in the bottom. I didn't use any hot glue for this because they stuck pretty dang good but feel free to use some!
Then I pretty much kepy shoving the pieces of cedar in the block. All facing towards the bottom. I only covered the front and sides because I figured it would fit closer to the house on an empty back.
 Here it is upright
Here you can see the top that I left empty as well so I could attach an ornament hook.
Here I just hot glued it in! I ended up using a crap ton more hot glue than this(the entire top was covered) because the hook almost came out!
Here I made a bow using the left over ribbon from the Christmas Wreath.
(If you want a tutorial on how I made this bow let me know! I was in a rush and didn't think to take pics while I was making it)
I twirled the ribbon around my finger to make them all spirally and pretty.
Then I attached the bow to the block using some more ornament hooks!
Here is the final product! I might get another package of the ornaments that I used for the Christmas Wreath and hang them throughout but for today I was working with what I had!
Okay so I'm not completely sure what tomorrows blog will be about but hopefully I'll get it up a tad sooner than today's. Now I'm off to wrap the kiddos Christmas presents before one of them sneaks out of bed and sees them laying all over the floor!

Happy 4th day of Blogmas!!!

Happy 4th day of Blogmas!!!!! The next couple of blogs are going to be Christmas DIYs woohoo!!!!
So today I made a Christmas wreath using the base from the fall wreath I made HERE!
So here we have the wreath, the M from the fall wreath, plastic Christmas balls, some pretty wired ribbon, battery operated LED lights, and my handy hot glue gun! The balls and ribbon are from walmart but I cant find them online to link them.
Here's the two ribbons I used
Here are the ornaments, they're the Holiday Time Mini Shatterproof Ornaments
First thing I did was connect the battery pack for the lights to the back of the wreath, I tried to find the flattest spot to put it.
Then I made a bow (like I did in the fall wreath tutorial) but this time I layered the smaller ribbon on the larger one.
I hot glued some ornament hooks to the back of the M so it would just hook on to the wreath.
I straitened out ornament hooks so I could shove them through the wreath instead of hang them. You can hang them if you don't want to shove them through.
Here's all the little ornaments! Last year I used regular glass ornaments which was a mistake! Every time the wind blew or someone shut the door too hard we lost an ornament. So I pretty much out these on like I put the fall decorations on. Just poked them through the back!
Then I twisty tied on the bow and hooked on the M and TahDah!
 Here it is at night!
So here you go!  This lovely took me probably 20 minutes not bad at all! Tomorrows blog will be a DIY hanging light decoration!!! Now I'm off to make some dinner!!!
