I wasn't sure if this DIY was going to work because I've read that they don't and that the marker wipes off but it actually worked for me! This one was just a practice. I want bigger letters now that I know it'll work!
I started with the dollar tree cup that I showed you from the Dollar Tree haul yesterday, a Painters Sharpie that I got from Walmart and some left over stickers from an older craft
First I stuck on the stickers.
Then I started making the dots! I made them more dense on the letters and spread them out all around the cup. I also painted the handle.
Next I peeled off the stickers. I used nail polish remover and q-tips for any mistakes. Then I put it in the oven that was set to 350' for 20 minutes, I think It went for closer to 30 minutes because I didn't set a timer and I got sidetracked.... When it was cooled off I got a wet rag and wiped it down and everything stayed in place yay!!! I'm not sure if it would all stay on in the dishwasher but the bottom of the mug says to hand wash anyway.
So here's the finished product! I think the pen was almost $2 and the mug was $1 at the dollar tree so if you make more than one you hardly spend anything on them!
Tomorrow for day 4 of Blogmas I'm going to do a Christmas wreath DIY! See ya'll tomorrow!
